For London Design Festival ’14 Tiipoi’s range of one-off designs on display at Dishoom Shoreditch look to revive the materials of daily life in India.
Tiipoi has been given the opportunity to present the ethos behind its brand at Dishoom in Shoreditch. Housed in an original glass cabinet within the café, will be a one-off collection of thalis or plates in a range of materials and finishes that showcase the potential of the traditional metalworking methods of Moradabad, the centre of metal production in India that caters to a vast international market. Just as Dishoom pays tribute to the fading legacy of the Irani cafés in Bombay, Tiipoi is looking to revive the use of materials such as copper and brass that make up a variety of everyday objects across India – and Dishoom becomes the perfect platform to revive their use on the table again.
The collection comprises of 16 unique thalis in copper, brass and silver that will be launched as part of a larger collection in 2015 by Tiipoi.
